Okay we need your help naming our rehearsal space

So here’s the deal…we have this rehearsal space. It’s where we rehearse and stuff. Well, I’m tired of calling it the rehearsal space (or the practice space), and I think we need a name for it. We have some ideas already, but we thought maybe we need to go outside our little circle to get some help from you guys. So just reply to this blog with your ideas. Here’s a few things to keep in mind. Short and sweet, and easy to say. Like, I’m tired of saying I’m going to the rehearsal space because it just takes so long to say…. maybe it doesn’t take that long, and I’m just crazy, but I want something easier than that. If the name somehow relates to us, or our songs, great. But it doesn’t have to. Okay now go!

-Jam Town “I’m going down to Jam Town”. It’ll make you laugh every time you say it.

-Bob “Going to see Bob. Be back later.”

-The Hill… that’s almost like, too easy though.

    -Marvin Gaye. Just because.

‘kay… I’m out. LOL Would love to hear what you’ve already come up with and what you ultimately decide to name it.

I like “The Hill”, as Jodie suggested, also “Second Home”, lol I dunno, what did ya’ll come up with, it might be easier for us to vote!

    “the Captain”

or i’m not sure if you would want to use it but my friends and i were bored one day and named my car “Bertha” i would love it if you called your practice space that hahaha :D

anyways i’ll keep thinking maybe something like totally amazing will come to me in my sleep….

In trying to think of something witty, I wound up distracted by wondering ‘What did they come up with on their own?’

This comment was helpful, I know!

i think “the cave” would be a sweet name!

  6. Britney Says:

Just take rehearsal out and call it ‘the space’

Or outer space, that would be cool :)

    Mercy!!
Your rehearsal place as I see it is sort of where you fight your battles. I am not sure if it’s where you guys started but you guys are def farther than you were (when you started) and maybe could be described as “more than you thought you could be”…and I am sure as a band you go through hard times…but you always stick it through…”I won’t leave you Troubled Mercy”…I’m am sure the song wasn’t exactly referring to things the way I did….but I think for this situation it could work :)

  12. J Says:

    how about ‘the mancave?’

  13. Kate Says:

    September 15th, 2009

The Abyss. Shoot, wasn’t that a movie?

  14. Julia Says:

I like The Space, but if you want to be weird, you could call it The Men’s Room. That would just be funny.

    the hearse
    the saw mill
    t-town

  16. Jess Says:

    September 15th, 2009

    You could call it “June’s.”
A fun word, an album reference, and an ambiguous destination if you’re trying to ditch someone who’s annoying you.

  17. Kimberly Says:

    September 15th, 2009

I vote for “The Hill” :)

  18. Jess Says:

    September 15th, 2009

The closet - because you guys are in it and need to come out?

Scream Room - cause that’s all you do when you sing, then it can double as a groupie hookup room.

The Pink Room - walls are pink? if blue, call it blue… etc. (something tells me it’s pink)

Hope Factory - keepin’ the hope alive… someday, it will happen. Keep practicing boys…

Future UPS Guy Club - no?

    The Box - simple.

  19. Jill Says:

You should call it “The Laboratory,” but you would HAVE to use the British pronunciation. “la-BOR-a-tory.” If you decide to go that route, you should also start referring to Matt as “Igor,” and he has to limp around, hunchbacked, responding to everything you say with “Yeeesss, Master.”

    Too far? hmm. yeah.

  20. Jess Says:

    September 15th, 2009

or you can combine the first letters of past girlfriends to make a weird word, or think of a unique name of a girl you hooked up with on the road and use that. viola.

  21. Jess Says:

    September 15th, 2009

    voila, that is.

  22. Justin Says:

  23. lisa Says:

I was in the middle of one of my grad classes when I read your Tweet. My professor commented that I looked deep in thought. And I was.
    I vote Brother’s Keeper.
It’s one of the originals and would be a great title of a destination for 3 males.
I expect a Tweet about the final decision soon. Good luck!

    short, sweet, to the point.

    “where’s do you rehearse?”
    “there”

“we have to go practice ‘there’”

    “I’ll meet you ‘there’”

    you get the point

hmmmm, tryin to come up with one that hasn’t been mentioned….

Memphis, assuming ya’ll are still in Cali, but then you’d have to rename it when you come back haha.
Perfection, or some version of it.
    I liked Jess’ “june’s” idea.
The Wormhole, just because I said so ;)
something related to Mem St perhaps.
    band hall.

  36. Jess Says:

    September 17th, 2009

    oh okay okay. how about…

mom’s house - cause that’s where said ‘practice space’ probably is.

the basement - a place where you could keep the white powder anywhere without worry.

or better yet, you should let your girlfriend or wife pick out a name. she probably supports the both of you with her degree.

    ouch.

alright alright I’m just kidding, you know I love you ingram hillers.

  37. Kerri Says:

    September 17th, 2009

    823 Lane
    823 Hill

I think you should call it FRANK!

Two reasons 1. It’s a place where you need to be frank (I suppose) 2. Frank the Giant Bunny rabbit is the best movie character ever
    FRANK!

  43. Meg Says:

    September 21st, 2009

If you want something more serious that has meaning, you could go with something like “Siren’s Port” . . . I actually prefer “Siren’s Sanctuary,” because alliteration is dope, but that doesn’t help with short and simple.

For something fun with no meaning whatsoever, I suggest “Reagal Beagle.”

  44. Erin from Utah Says:

    September 21st, 2009

    The MANBOX!

Miss you guys– come back already! :)

  45. Brittani from MS Says:

    September 21st, 2009

You could name it “The Other Side.”
Then when you’re going to rehearse you could leave notes for people saying “I’ve gone to the Other Side. Be back soon…”

I think it would generate a lot of laughs. I mean, I’m laughing just thinking about it. :)

    Jamboree

  54. John Says:

“The Anvil” is also a part of the ear that carries acoustic vibrations from the ear drum to the inner ear. The more I think of it, I like this one best. When are you guys coming to East TN?

    The Battleground
    or
    The Battlefield

This practice room or rehearsal space is where “you fight [all] your battles.” Its where you persevere and work and sweat and struggle to reach your ultimate victory.

You could think of yourselves as warriors. And have battle cries. :)

    Just a thought…

Hi, guys!! How about “The Factory”? That is what Andy Warhol called his studio, so if was good enough for him . . . ;) Think about it! It was a great place of creativity and inspiration (some a bit crazy) and you probably are going through a lot of the same things!!

  71. Krista Says:

    November 13th, 2009

    Maybe “The Space”
the Place or even “The P”
(”I’ll be at The Space”, “I’m going to the P”)

Or: Space Where I Get Stuff Done
S.W.I.G.S.D. (kinda hard to roll off the tounge… but after a few tries it’s kinda funny, trust me I’ve been doing it for a minute of two.)
(”be back later, I’ll be at The swigsd”)
