Memphis-based rock trio Ingram Hill will be releasing their new album, “Look Your Best,” on September 28, 2010, via Rock Ridge Music. “Look Your Best” features 10 brand new tracks (12 tracks on iTunes) and was produced by Rick Beato (Billionaire, Michelle Malone, Flickerstick, Shinedown) at his Stone Mountain, Georgia, studio. The band had worked with Beato on their first full-length, 2004’s “June’s Picture Show.” Prior to entering the studio, lead vocalist/guitarist Justin Moore and guitarist Phil Bogard, gave themselves a month to write at least 20 new songs to go along with material they already been performing live. The result is an album that includes both new winners and some existing fan favorites.

The album’s first single, “As Long As I’m With You,” “is for that person or the people who really kind of holds it together for you,” says Moore, who penned the tune. “When seemingly everything around you is falling apart, it’s nice to know that it’s going to be okay because someone’s got your back. It doesn’t always have to be the same person, either. Sometimes it can be your best friend or significant other, and sometimes it can be a group of fans in the front row, smiling, dancing, and singing the words to your songs.”

A number of the songs on the album were road-tested before they were recorded, such as “Hey Girl,” which Moore says got great feedback every single time it was played live, especially from the throngs of females sure to be in every audience at Ingram Hill shows. ““Hey Girl” is pretty much an argument against the constant self-consciousness of almost every woman I know,” says Moore. “It’s not always the most popular and supposed-to-be-hot girl that does it for guys, and even the flaws you see in yourself might be just the thing that’s attractive to us.”.

The band was previously signed to Hollywood Records and released two albums on the label: 2004’s “June’s Picture Show,” which boasted two Billboard charting Hot AC radio hits (“Will I Ever Make It Home” and “Almost Perfect”); and 2007’s “Cold In California” (which came after a line-up change). After ending their relationship with Hollywood following that album, they began writing and recording “Look Your Best.” The band has toured extensively with bands such as Hootie and the Blowfish, Maroon 5, Guster, Better Than Ezra, and Hanson. Ingram Hill is: Justin Moore (lead vocals, guitar), Phil Bogard (guitar), Zach Kirk (bass).

“Look Your Best” Track List:

1) Broken Lover

2) Lady Grey

3) As Long As I’m With You

4) Hey Girl

5) Burn Out Your Flame

7) Miss Kennedy

New Album To Be Released In September

Memphis-based rock trio Ingram Hill has signed a label and management deal with Rock Ridge Music. Their new album, “Look Your Best,” has been scheduled for release on September 28, 2010. Says lead vocalist/guitarist Justin Moore of the signing: “We are extremely excited to be a new part of the Rock Ridge family. We have a brand new record that we’re very proud of, and we couldn’t be happier about the partnership with Rock Ridge – not only for this record, but hopefully for many more records and years of success to come.”

Rock Ridge Music President Jason Spiewak is equally pleased to be working with the band. “Ingram Hill have stayed strong, continued to work through an important transitional period, and have emerged with an incredible new album. We are thrilled to be working with them!”

Well, if you don’t read it that way, then you’re reading it wrong, so go back and try again.

…waiting…

Okay good, you’re back. So I just wanted to let you know about a couple things. Number one, we’re playing some shows, and you need to come hang out with us at them. We’re VERY excited about going to hang out with some our favorite people at World Of Beer. As you can see from our tour schedule, we have quite a few shows at different World Of Beer locations… we like to call it a WOB mini tour. If you’re wondering what the hell World Of Beer is, you can go here (www.wobusa.com), but in a nutshell, it’s some really great people that have come up with the brilliant idea of offering quality beer from around the world (seriously, from freakin everywhere), and mixing it with some amazingly handsome musicians (that’s where we come in)…oh, and some other good music as well…, and all the while being good folks and creating a great World Of Beer family. So by all means, check them out, say hello, do what you do. Oh, and come see us when we’re there. Cuz these shows are free, dawg!

Number two. We’re working like crazy to get a release date for our record. It’s finished… it’s awesome… you’re gonna love it. I want you all to have it right now. But keep sticking with us. Soon enough that musical void in your life will be filled with the glooorious sounds of new Ingram Hill songs!

I had a delicious fried peanut butter and banana sandwich. It was the first one I’d ever had. It makes a lot of sense why it was Elvis’s favorite sandwich, and why he gained a bunch of weight! haha. Holy crap it was good! But I figured it would be okay to clog up my arteries for my all-time favorite. I recommend you try it at least once (but the secret is to mash up the peanut butter and banana together before you fry it).
So to get to my other point, I updated a few statuses with this info about the sandwich and Elvis’s birthday, and one of the responses was quite nice. We get messages like this every once in a while, and it really just makes me feel good about what we do. I think everyone needs that reassurance from time to time. We certainly don’t take for granted the messages and comments we get regularly, but sometimes someone comes out of the woodwork..someone we’ve never met before, have never heard from…and just makes your night. In this instance, I figured I’d share.

“i was a maintenance man at a amusement park in memphis tn for 12 years, my job was to maintain the (zippin pippin) a 100 year old wooden rollercoaster that was his fav ride, he used to rent out the park all night long and ride it over and over. so to you i say thanx, for being my elvis . ive never had the op to see you live but i hope to some day, dont ever stop. i dont know what i would do without your tunes and lyrics to get me thru the shit in my life”

This made me smile. Thanks for the message, Kevin.

Here you were thinking your old pals, Ingram Hill, we’re gonna get you a gift for Christmas. Well boy were you wrong! Now if only I had learned how to use the internet and our website, I probably would’ve given you your gift a lot earlier. However, I still haven’t learned how, so I used a website called last.fm for your gift, and lemme just tell you, my understanding of that site is at all time low. I nearly shot my computer. It almost got me out of the Christmas spirit, and you almost didn’t get a gift! But I think I figured out. SO, if you’ve ever wanted to own the actual mp3 of our YouTube cover of Chris Brown’s “With You,” you can download it for free. And if you’ve never wanted to own that, then we have some coal on the way to your house right now. Download that sucker right here

Oh, and if you don’t celebrate Christmas, we got this for you.

***UPDATE*** You gotta click on the “free download” link under Tracklist, just below the album cover.

Of course there is. If you remember, we not only were looking for a name for our rehearsal space, we also needed a name for our new album (though we didn’t run a contest for the latter). I don’t know why these things take so long… I guess because it’s like, one step below naming your band. Once it’s done, it’s kinda done. I mean, sure, you could always change your band name. Bands do it all the time. But you lose name recognition and branding and all that whole shebang (sidenote: does anyone else read the word “shebang” as “she bang” in the voice of William Hung? Example here), so once you pick your band name, you really wanna try to stick to it. And once you’ve achieved some sort of notoriety, it’s kinda silly to change your name. So basically it’s set in stone. Same with an album title. Once you name it, it’s there. It’s on the cover, it’s listed in iTunes, and you get a million questions about why you named your album what you did. So almost half the goal is to just not name it anything stupid (like June’s Picture Show…”Maaan I love that JANE’S Picture Show album”). That said, here’s the new title and tracklisting:

Look Your Best
1. Broken Lover
2. Lady Gray
3. As Long As I’m With You
4. Hey Girl
5. Burn Out Your Flame
6. Come Around
7. Miss Kennedy
8. The Hardest Part
9. Ready For The Sun
10. Wish You’d Stay

Of course, track listings are subject to change. But that’s what it is right now, and what we plan on it being forever. The album is getting mastered right now, and as soon as we get it back, I’ll put the actual studio versions of songs on our Myspace player, instead of my crappy home demo versions.

Hope everyone is having a happy holiday!

So after much deliberation, we decided to call the rehearsal space The Mill. We had actually already come up with that (there were actually other ones we had already thought of, too), and then we had some replies suggesting that one (I think Sally was one of them), so we went with it. It makes sense, really. It works with the mixing of the actual location of the space, as well as kinda getting the back part of “Hill.” There were some pretty hilarious suggestions (ex: The Shit Hole, Jam Town, and S.W.I.G.S.D.), and I really appreciate everyone pitching in your ideas. That was pretty awesome. Although I gotta tell you, I was pretty dead set on The Mill, when someone suggested Ingram Hole, which just made me laugh/grossed out. That almost became the winner, but the other guys got a little too grossed out by it. So there ya go. We rehearse at The Mill. Short, sweet, to the point. I think it gets the job done.

I really didn’t mean to be. Quite honestly, I thought everyone knew what was going on, but it was brought to my attention that actually hardly anyone knew what was going on. So here we go. We’re recording a new record…, like literally, right now. We’ve been in Atlanta for about a month (hence all my Atlanta-based status updates on the Facebook and Twitter). We’re working with Rick Beato again, and if that name sounds or doesn’t sound familiar, he’s the fella who produced our first record, June’s Picture Show. The album is getting pretty close to finished, and it sounds downright awesome. We don’t have a title for the album just yet, but I’ll certainly let you know when we get one. And unfortunately, I don’t know a release date either (and of course I’ll let you know that, too). We’d love to have it out by the spring, but, as I’ve found, these things tend to change. So if you’re wondering about the lack of tour dates recently, there’s a little explanation for you. We’re not just sitting around the house, eating potato chips, and being just overall lazy. Actually, we’re sitting around in a hotel doing those things.

And for those of you wondering what we named the rehearsal space, we still haven’t decided. But there are some terrific ideas there. Thank you so much for your input. And if you still have some, keep ‘em coming. If you don’t know what I’m talking about right now, go read the post before this one. And leave a suggestion.

Look forward to seeing you guys soon, and for you to hear our record!
